THE ONDA PODCASTS - SPECIAL EDITION
"How can we redraw the map of the world through relationships rather than borders?" Vanessa Angélica Villarreal, Mexican-American poet and essayist
During the international meeting "(In)visibilities and (In)justices," held at the MC93 in Bobigny on March 28th and 29th, 2024, in partnership with Relais Culture Europe, the discussion focused on the barriers to the mobility and visibility of artists. What hinders mobility? What actions and alliances can preserve diversity? How can we safeguard artistic freedom and freedom of expression?
In this episode hosted by Stéphanie Masson, we follow stories, spanning from Bobigny to Kinshasa and Haifa, featuring Hortense Archambault (Director of the MC93 in Bobigny), Geoliane Arab (International Advisor at Onda and Moderator of the meeting), Michael Disanka (Author, Director, and Actor), and Bashar Murkus (Director and Artistic Director of the Ensemble and Khashabi Theatre). They share a vision of theater as a welcoming space, a place for storytelling, dialogue, and weaving collective imaginaries, where all voices can be heard. By naming interdependencies and emphasizing the importance of alliances, they reveal a dialogue between geographies, places, and people. Theater emerges as a space for building connections between worlds to "create world."
